Hi all,
Right, got a question for you all!
The club where I reguarly play has upgraded to CDJ 850's (Woo!) and ideally I would LOVE to start using them as controllers. Now I've managed to upgrade them and setup the HID interface etc and had them hooked up to Traktor as controllers and they work perfect.
BUT
I would've thought that connecting them to the mixer via the RCA cables would be how the sound would play out, but no... I still seem to have to route everything through the audio 8 DJ interface.
Now I've got a macbook, and it only has 2 USB cables.. I dont really wanna use a USB hub.
Is the only option Ive got to use them as controllers only and use the audio 8 as the output into the mixer..
Or can you somehow use the CDJ 850's as a direct output from Traktor into the mixer?
Answers on a postcard! Thanks!!
And yes, I've used search, and didn't get anywhere. Thanks again.
The CDJ-850 builds on the DNA of its predecessor, the CDJ-800MK2 and adds some serious enhancements. With its full-sized jog wheels, large screen and pro-DJ features, it feels and functions like a CDJ-900NXS or CDJ-2000NXS – without the top-flight price tag. The CDJ-850 is rekordbox-ready or you can use the USB-HID interface to control the DJ. Apr 20, 2012 Pioneer CDJ-850 MIDI mapping file for TRAKTOR PRO/PRO 2 Pioneer will prepare a CDJ-850 MIDI Mapping file for TRAKTOR PRO/PRO 2, available to download from our web-site on June 22nd. This file will allow Pioneer CDJ-850 users to setup TRAKTOR PRO/PRO 2 to be controlled by CDJ-850.

Nov 26, 2012 But down to the 850 and the 900: their main differences seem to pertain mostly to DJs playing without a laptop; things like pro DJ link (or whatever), looping, slip mode, sound quality, and so on. For a DJ playing on Traktor and using the CDJs with HID, none of that matters. Mar 08, 2014 The CDJ 850 is supported as a MIDI controller in Traktor which was confirmed by the NI support person you were in contact with. The reasons for not adding HID support are quite clear. The CDJ 850 does not exist in clubs or festivals, and is much closer in price to NI's S4 than the 900/2000, so there is very little incentive for NI.
Cdj 850 Hid Traktor Pro 2 Review
S'up!
I just played a gig on my friend's DJM-900 and CDJ-2000s, all plugged in via USB to my laptop running Traktor (with an X1 and custom mapped controller for FX on the side). And what a great way to play that is. But a pair of 2000s is super out of my price range, so let's chuck that out the window.
But down to the 850 and the 900: their main differences seem to pertain mostly to DJs playing without a laptop; things like pro DJ link (or whatever), looping, slip mode, sound quality, and so on. For a DJ playing on Traktor and using the CDJs with HID, none of that matters. If I'm not mistaken, with Traktor 2.6 both the 900 and the 850 have Traktor HID support, so my question is: for that setup, what's the difference? Are there any discernible advantages that the 900 has over the 850 in HID link mode, and if so, what?
